RE: Day 377: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: cross-eyed
I need to reach that point!
Well, except for "never want to read over what I wrote" - I assume you don't mean you hate reading your own writing. i made the mistake of reading what I had written for NaNo this morning and was on the verge of giving up on day one. Lesson here - do NOT read what you wrote for at least 3 days or longer! And be prepared to hate most of it, and be on the lookout for the little bit that will be worth saving....
I just generally don't want to read what I wrote, because I kind of feel like I'm reading it/discovering it as it's being written. I'm really REALLY weird about not wanting to redo something I've already done. I rarely rewatch movies or reread books I've read, unless it's been a LONG time. I feel the same way about my writing, my art, pretty much any of it.
I don't plan to read any of my NaNoWriMo until it's all done. I'm tracking the plot stuff as I go so that hopefully for once I won't need to keep going back to read things to find a scene/character name or prop or something for a future chapter. I don't want to second guess myself into not finishing it!
Just keep writing. You can always look it over later!
It's a healthy habit and one that allows you to be more prolific than the introspective perfectionists who never know when to quit revising! I need to emulate you.
