Cats, insiders, outsiders: Day 859: 5 Minute Freewrite: Prompt: insider
Housecats are the quintessential insiders,
lurking at windows, staring out at whoever walks by.
source: Tatyana Rodionova
Humans, they regard with cool contempt.
Squirrels, they regard with red-hot hatred.
Heaven forbid our indoor cats should be allowed to become 'outsiders.' May the mice and cute furry critters of the night be quicker than the cat!
Something about the sight of a cat in the window has always tugged at my heartstrings. Our own resident feline, Bobi the Bad, howls at the door every night, insistent, loud, incessant, and once again last night, I caved. I let him out. If I don't cave first, The Man of the House can be counted on to relent to the amplified pleadings of the bad^ss night owl, Bobinki, king of his territory, which apparently is just the perimeter of our house.
Of course, we know the "insiders" are doing more than looking out the window. They sit on our computers and Kindles, our desks and piles of paper, and when we are not looking, they log in and start their busy work, ruling the world.
Stock market is falling? Blame the cat.

They look so cute, so innocent, so endearing. We would never allow these furry feline despots under our roof otherwise. We'd put them all on a slow boat to China.
Scientists and historians tell us that the cat's hunting skills first endeared them to humans, whose stores of grain were threatened by mice. When the fleas of rhodents unleashed Bubonic plague, it wasn't until cats reduced the rat population that the Plague finally receded.
I'd google the evidence right now, but it must wait until the Five-Minute Freewriter timer goes off.
Eating raw bats and other weird things is allegedly the source of the Covid-19 "corona virus" outbreak (those Chinese are bold, eating insects and other oddities). My guess is that it will take Behind-the-Scenes work from our favorite insiders, The Cats, to get this epidemic under control.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Ding!
Day 859: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: insider

> Cats rule the Internet!
No doubt one day they'll take complete control over our lives. To prepare for this day we need to know the enemy. By drawing a cat you'll understand what they really are...
Step 1
Learning a skeletal structure is the first step to create a believable pose. Bones are a support for muscles, and joints between them define the range of motion.

I was a wee bit mistaken about cats ending the Plague, but not entirely:
That One Time The Pope Banned Cats And It Caused The Black Plague
Pope Gregory’s condemnation of cats "may not be responsible for the spread of black death, but it’s definitely connected to the decline in cat populations at the time, and the proliferation of rat populations."
Source: awesomestories.com
The Black Death or Black Plague was the original zombie apocalypse. People living during this time lived in constant fear of death.
This is a cautionary tale to all you cat haters out there... Without them, pests would run wild, and not just rats. Cats are natural hunters. They catch cockroaches, snakes, and scorpions too. You wouldn’t hate that, would you?

Thanks... I wonder if cats could control this new outbreak. One thing is certain, Chinese aren't very cat friendly. 😫
Kitten teriyaki.... don't get me started!
