By mid August a local idol worshipping is done in a far away rural place. It's a worship to the god of iron (Ògún), the focal point in the midst of the celebration is the brutal beheading of a sacrificial dog with his blood watering all the item used in worshipping it.

The head is hung and made into a necklace with the worshippers dangling it around there neck, all in praises to Ògún (the god of iron).

My story started at the beginning of this particular celebration been held on a fateful day, everyone was hailing this god sitting down idlelessly with so many concortion on its head, the chief priest came with his bottle full of dry gin, gulped some of them and spew the remaining on the floor, making a form of oblation while the other priest says "àsëë" a meaning amen.

Incantations follows to energize the atmosphere and supercharge it, then the real deal of the occasion commemorating the celebration which is the beheading. Ògún will be satisfied today and bless his people they say.

The dog was brought forward, everyone was high with one sort of alcoholic drink or the other, then like a miracle or something, the dog started talking, he told them why will they want to behead him to satisfy a god that has no hand, why can't the god come out himself and do it. And he was right, a god that'll demand such a thing as big as a dog should be able to cook it himself.

The chief priest couldn't believe his ears as he disappeared immediately into thin air,or will I rather say, ran away, his subordinates followed, the whole place was in disarray, no one has seen a talking dog before, no one could be seen.

The dog was later beheaded anyway.
