Elections : Day 312: 5 Minute Freewrite

I still don't know what prompt this prompt today, I was expecting something different though, yesterday I heard the news about Senators McCain glorious political exist from this world and was thinking since a good number of the freewrite community are in that country there prompt might have been inspired by that, but no, it didn't go the way I thought, possibly because the prompt as I heard has been schedule, as am writing too, am concurrently this king of what to bring out with the word "Election". 'Cos that's the next battle of my life for the next five minutes, I hope to win. I mean win big to a Curie standard. So here we go. Wait, wait, let me set the time.....

The first election I'll ever watch and take so much interest in was the US presidential election, I was in my first year in college then, studying Physics, I stayed glued to the TV all night as the polls were counted from state to state, I also learnt some differences in the way they did there's and ours here.

First, US election was transparent enough to call it at that, digital and orderly, while here is the total opposite, lots go on here I dare not say to the shame of my country. Though over the years things have start to improve, an improvement meant to recycle old leaders. Much like going round in a cycle.

I also gained the excitement that surrounds the whole world seeing a black president for the first time, I watched as Oprah Winfrey cried in front of the TV, it's a dream come true and a pride to the black race, we actually came there as slaves.
