Weekend Freewrite -5/5/2018 - Single Prompt Option : Coconut
Yesterday was Sam's 3rd meeting with her painting class. She was asked to paint a sunrise. The objective of the activity was to practice the shading techniques and different brush strokes to form an object. She used shades of blue, yellow and orange to portray her favorite sunrise scenery. And of course, she never forget to paint her favorite tree, the coconut tree which she liked to see every morning in her lola's province.
Perhaps, this coconut tree reminds her of the beautiful morning she always had in the province. The delicious coconut juice, the meat, the leaf that she used to make a whistle, the stick for a broom and the lumber which my father used for constructing a shanty.
These are the memories we relate to a coconut tree. Coconut tree is really very important.. from roots to leaves.
