Day 185: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: basket

This Sunday we have our island hopping to celebrate for the job well done last semester. We visited three islands. It was an amazing experience for me as first-timer. Though, I am not a good swimmer but, I really did enjoy the deep, clear water. I so love it. Along with me is my daughter, Sam who is also fond of going to the beach no matter how high the sun is and she is not afraid of sunburn.

While we had on our second stop, I noticed this guy in a small boat, paddling from one boat to another selling sea shells and sea urchins. Mostly, Filipinos love eating these in raw with Vinegar to taste. It's delicious actually. His basket is full of sea shells and urchins. He sell it to the tourists in the island. He is a diver. He dive shells for a living. He did it everyday. He make sure his basket is full of shells and made it sure it is all sold before sun down.

See, how brave he was, spending much of his time diving for shells just to feed his family. I salute you, Manong! May the Lord bless you a hundred folds.
