Day 92: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: earthquake
"Get changed. You don't want your dad to see you all sweaty," my grandpa said as we just got home from school. It would normally be my mom or dad to pick us up but that time, it had to be him. Mommy gave birth and dad had to be there for her.
Then the door opened and it was my dad. All looking tired from the night watching over my mom. Not a few minutes after he sat at the rocking chair, he fell asleep.
I tried to play as quiet as possible. "Thud! thud, thud, thud!" I got so worried my dad would wake up. I wanted to check the noise before he does, but there he was, jolted from the chair looking worried. He got us 4 kids and ordered we stay out of the house. Surprised to see a lot outside their houses too. He hurriedly left us to go back and see my mom and my little sister at the hospital.
July 16, 1990. The birth of my youngest sister and the date to which over 1600 people died. It was one of, if not the strongest but deadliest earthquakes that marked Philippine history.
This is my entry to @mariannewest's 5 minute freewrite.

I was blithely dusting in the Old Steemians Home’s hall, when the stuffed bananafish, there on the mantelpiece, started talking with @mariannewest’s voice! This is what he told me about this weekend delicacies:

oh wow - so it was a true story?
It was. My mother told us after that she got really scared because her bed was moving and the medicine bottles were clinking and falling off the Shelves. My sister often got called as earthquake baby.
I am not surprised! That is quite an entrance lol
Thank you. I appreciate your time reading my story. ☺️
