Day 349, Five Minutes Freewrite: Surprise Reunion
Excited! Yes, it has been five years since he left the country. He has no regrets. A degree and fluency in two foreign languages is worth the sojourn. Ken can’t wait to set eyes on his relatives. He only saw his elder brother, Dave, on two occasions during his stay abroad.
Dave met him at the airport on his arrival and drove him to his apartment. On their way home, Ken told his brother his plans for the week. He intended to rest the next day and then travel to the countryside to see their parents.
On his return to the city, he will visit their two married sisters. He expresses his desire to his nephews that were born in his absence. Running in places to catch up with the happenings in his absence. Though, their pictures were sent to him. He is anxious to meet them. Dave’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he listened but Ken was too excited to notice it.
Dave led the way to his apartment. Unknown to Ken, a surprise awaits him. “Welcome home,” they chorused the instant the living door opened. Ken couldn’t believe the sight before him. His emotions gave way to tears of joy…..
