Flash - Freewrite
Jim and Mac arrived at number 43 Sycamore drive early that July morning. The sun was beginning its morning ascent and cast long slender shadows along the length of the drive. The birds congregated on the wire overhead and chirped in perfect harmony as they welcomed the day.
The brothers made their way into the large rectangular tent and resealed it carefully. They had erected the tent the day before, so today should be a quick fumigation job. Jim's canister was empty, so he nipped back out to get the van, and grabbed another.. As he returned to his work, a bright halo of light enveloped the tent. It was a quick bright flash, like lightning, but without it's noisy ally. He shook his head wearily and wondered what he had seen?
He asked Mac about the flash when he went back inside, but he was oblivious to it, and Jim put it down to a trick of the mind.
But Mac was never the same after that July morning. He began to notice co-incidences ever increasingly and often had this strange feeling of deja-vu. He seemed to know when something was about to happen too.
The brothers had an idea, Mac would pick the winner of the Grand National and they could retire of the fortune. The day came for the big race, and they put everything they owned on Rusty Rivet.
She fell at the first
I guess the flash was just Mrs Reilly taking a photo of the white tent!

1993 Grand National; someone dreamt there would be no winner and went to place a bet. They got told to leave. Not sure if that's true but it makes a great story.
Wow, that's mad, the makings of a great story for sure!
