Free Marty Gottesfeld! A True Hero in Family Protection....
I was on facebook earlier today trying to reach out to the activists in the Pursuance Project facilitated by Barrett Brown. I was contacted by an activist who is involved in the effort to try and free Marty Gottesfeld. In essence, a child who had been kidnapped by the state and was being abused and neglected and deprived of contact with her family was aided by a hacker who put pressure on the authorities who were engaged in this behavior. You should read the whole story for sure. It's kind of horrific. The young girl in question has thankfully (after the attention that was brought to bear by Marty's actions) been returned to her family, but Marty is now facing a long prison sentence for his attempt to come to the family's aid.
I was asked by those involved in his defense work to join their efforts. I thought it would be a good idea to post here and to start trying to coordinate people's efforts and intelligently marshal resources to prevent more destruction to families and to bring aid to those who either have been involved in this activism or who will be involved in it in the future.
So that end, I am starting a tag on Marty Gottesfeld here on Steemit ( #freemartygottesfeld to regularly post updates on the progress of his case and help those who want to assist in his defense work to come to his aid. This is my first foray into involving myself in "hacktivist" activism. My activism has all be information-warfare based stuff in the past. I had honestly not even considered hacking to be a tool that would be effectively used in this purpose... but I am seeing that Marty did an amazingly good thing with his hacking and perhaps this kind of thing or things like it could be replicated in the future.
Anyways -- that's all. I do encourage people to read the whole story about Marty's history and get involved if they feel so inclined.

A hero or heroine is a person or main character of a literary work who, in the face of danger, combats adversity through feats of ingenuity, bravery or strength, often sacrificing their own personal concerns for a greater good. The concept of the hero can be found in classical literature or you can just ask Marty Gottesfeld if you prefer a real definition.
Great post, I will take a look into this story and follow your tag. Thank god for people like Marty. What a sacrifice he has made, inspiring story by the looks of things.
Marty is a hero and sometimes heroes pay a price though unfair for their selflessness. We are all in this together. @familyprotction is an umbrella of hope for the Martys of the world. There is a lot of love here and we are with you. My prayers extend to Marty and believe that God will protect and bless him though this time. Thanks for bringing light to this for all of us to know.

I read this story. It is absolutely, unbelievably horrific. I cannot even begin to start on the heads that need to roll over this. This needs to be supported, in any way, shape or form.
