Socialism vs Capitalism?

in #freemarket6 years ago

"Capitalism" is a straw man of the "free market" that was coined by socialists in the 1800's, and later popularized by Karl Marx, as a means of demonizing and distorting free market economics. I try not to get into arguments about Socialism vs Capitalism, because both were developed by Socialists, and because it is a false dilemma fallacy where other options, namely the free market, are left unconsidered. Crony Capitalism, which is the current financial system in the West, is a clever facade that conceals a fascist underbelly, which is a form of socialism; it gives the illusion of free market economics without actually being a free market system. We live in a financially centralized economy run by a centralized banking system, along with a small handful of mega corporations that own most of their market share. However, a free market economy is decentralized, and thus the various institutional monopolies would need to be broken up into smaller decentralized parts in order to return to a competitive free market system. Therefore, the real discussion should be between decentralization and centralization, and and not between capitalism and socialism, since they are both centralized economic systems.
