Freedom Friday : Freedom to Choose Natural Medicine
It's an ethical practice when all choices and options are given to patients when it comes to their treatments and managements as it is their RIGHT TO KNOW. Getting a second opinion is very common when unsure of what to choose. If unhappy with their doctor, he/she can also be replaced, having the freedom to request or demand whoever they want or willing to entrust their care with.
From conventional to natural medicine, is it an option?
It's understandable that our present medical practitioners don't offer it nor consider it as an option as they don't have any kind of exposure of its' usage. Call it ignorance on their part but the majority don't have any experience or knowledge, most of all the expertise in using it. But would it be nice for patients if another option is the use of Natural Medicine?
It shouldn't be an issue but in the Philippines right now, whereas our medical practitioners are so used to conventional and pharmaceutical modalities, and anything outside them can be without basis and are UNSAFE. Coupled that with whatever reasons that Natural Medicine is now being questioned, a naturalist doctor is being prosecuted and her patients denied of freedom from their chosen treatment.
What if there is a counterpart who have such knowledge and experience, and is already licensed in prescribing "NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS" found beneficial to ones' health? Whose clients are the poor who can't afford such expensive medicines and treatments? In a modern world where cost-effectiveness is a factor in a chosen treatment, for a lot of patients, this is their only choice. And luckily for them, it is available.
Unluckily for Big Pharma, it is working. Or is it?
On August 14th of this year, about 50 policemen under the order of the Food and Drug Administration raided the home of a known medical practitioner Dra. Farrah Agustin-Bunch. Her home made into an outpatient Cancer Natural Medicine Facility was closed by the said raid, her patients sent out to the streets. Dr. Farrah as she is well known went into hiding, including her family for death threats.
Interestingly, her complainants were the presidents of 5 medical societies in the Philippines.I can only assume that these individuals were acting on behalf of all their members and if this is the case, that's a huge number of doctors in the country.
Dra. Farrah believes that this move made by the FDA was ordered by those powerful individuals in the medical field who wants her and her clinic to be erased in the medical industry.
This group as her complainants has received an "alleged" complaint from the family of a dead patient who became worse after seeing Dra. Farrah. In the same note, Dra. Farrah is also claiming the same thing. So who among them is telling the TRUTH?
At the end of the day, Dra. Farrah' facility is closed and her cancer patients, together with their families, and her supporters are all clamouring for her facility to be opened as their supplements are either running out or have run out as a continuity is needed to maximise their effectivity or complete a planned regime. This facility has been closed for 3 months.
The good news is, an online petition is ongoing, signed by more than 6,000 individuals; patients and their families, and dra. farrah' supporters for her facility to be opened. Reaching the senate, a preliminary hearing where the Department of Health and the FDA were questioned regarding this issue.
In the Philippines, it is disheartening to see our medical practitioners hindering this kind of treatment to the poor Filipinos. In medicine and as a nurse practitioner, the hippocratic oath is something we live by, to treat the sick to the best of our abilities. Personally,if our hospital can't deliver the best treatment, it's only normal to refer patients to another facility that can.
Same thing with what the patients want. If conventional management is not their choice, then give them the freedom to choose what they want. With each passing day that Dra. Farrah' facility is closed, her patients' access to her natural modality is being denied. For her stage 3 and 4 cancer patients who have run out their prescribed supplements, their hope to live diminishes every single day, coupled with despair. This sort of treatment is working for them, so why is it being denied?

It's not ethical if a known cure is being stopped like this, and leaves the patients in limbo.
The leaders of the institutions who have done this should be held accountable for the damage they caused to the health of the patients. These people should not be working in healthcare. And should never be allowed to continue IN healthcare.
Natural Medicine ARE just that, MEDICINE.
And if they work then that should NEVER be an issue. EVER.
The issue should be of funding to do more research and mass creation for the masses who badly needs them. Plus supporting the personnel involved.
We will see what will happen in the senate. The senator is seen as attention-grabbing or perhaps with own agenda. There is an electiin coming in 2019.
As for the patients? Right now is a waiting game.
Dr. Farrah is doing groundbreaking work. Not many people have the brain to do this.
Share the knowledge and spread it as wide as possible the more people know it the more will play with it and share their findings back.

That’s really crazy. That’s the kind of thing I get annoyed at.
Similar things happen here, and not just to natural medicine practitioners.
A couple of years ago a surgeon who deals with diabetic patients was banned from practicing and made to front up to investigation by the Medical Board because he was advising diabetic patients to change their diets to manage their diabetes in order to prevent surgery.
Now keep in mind, he is a specialist surgeon for diabetics — he was working to prevent the patient’s from needing to see him!!
But the dietary advice was contrary to mainstream opinion, and the hospital Dietitian got their nose out of joint and put in complaints.
Now keep in mind, all his patients defended him, and all attested to getting wonderful results from his advice, all had been prevented from needing surgery. None of them had ever complained about him or his treatment.
So you see, it’s not about natural therapists. It’s petty politics, where someone is jealous that they are not getting results, or that a maverick is!!

Oh poor guy! Bullied for doing what's best for the patients. As for petty jealousy, that can be covered by assassinating his character, same with Dra. Farrah. Being ganged-up is nasty and those bullies have only numbers to be strong. In cahoots with pharma, they are mighty if we let them. This needs to stop now.
Some facebook users internationally have joined Dra. Farrah' warriors so there is a bit of international exposure at least.
And yet big pharma goes unquestioned. It's such a shame that this happens... May there always be people around like you to fight and speak.out!!!

Big pharma is sorted, they've put officials in office so no one will go after them. What's bothersome is if these medical practitioners are in cahoots with them. We have seen these elsewhere.
Now, if what Raven has said that it's just a petty jealousy, we can go after those complainants.
If Dra. Farrah' legitimacy is being questioned, that's fine. Her credibility is top notch.

Wine this is so powerful and it makes me sick to think governments are shutting down natural medicine in countries across the world. Do you feel Farrah is legit and helped many people? Her dad was a herbal scientist and she worked with him after med school.
For years, she have formulated protocols for different ailments using minerals, herbs and vitamins. As for her immunotheraphy protocol, a lot of her patients, cured and with ongoing management, all are voicing their support for the re-opening of her facility.
