Excellent post. I think there is a big problem in examining one's templates, in that one's ability to take them apart is also template-based, booby-trapped so to speak. How to overcome the Catch-22?

I suppose one way would be to use a competent cognitive-behavioural therapist, although both practitioners and clients tend to think such therapy is only for the dysfunctional, not the normals and certainly not for those seeking personal evolution. However, there's always the do-it-yourself version of this, such as by using the excellent book Cognitive Behavior Therapy, 2nd Edition: Basics and Beyond, written by Judith S. Beck and published by The Guilford Press.

In addition, there is the subject of "charge", emotional baggage that tends to cloud one's analysis of weighty issues. Although there are many freely-available charge-removal procedures (Rub & Yawn, 6-Direction technique, Reach & Withdraw, acting out polarities, etc) they don't directly address the underlying cognition. It's a shame, because I've found charge-removal relatively easy but DIY CBT analysis very hard. Guess I'm stuck with those templates for now! :)

CBT tends to be used as you describe, yes - though this appears to be part of a general 'ethical' (or just lazy) protocol within psychology that heavily limits how far they will go into people's psyches. There is also the issue that EVERYONE is involved in heavily denying their real emotions and also heavily engrained with defense systems designed to stop their real feelings being triggered TO MOVE. Our entire culture is actually designed to hold this shitty blackhole in place. Manners are a good example of the way that we are programmed to become unconscious instead of just accepting how we and others really feel.

There is no way to change the patterns involved without unconditionally accepting all emotions and allowing them to vibrate in the body through sounds and movement. This is exactly what we are programmed NOT to do and if you really look at this and feel into it, you will notice that such emotion is among the most judged against of all phenomena.

When this is felt and understood, we can start to release judgements, express real feelings and then truly evolve.

Fair enough. Do you have particular techniques to help emotions vibrate in the body through sounds and movement, or is it simply a case of "letting it all hang out"?
