RE: AVTM #391: Anarchapulco, Ron Paul, Judge Napolitano
Ron Paul addresses this in his new video.
I don't know what is going on, but if someone is preventing Ron Paul from addressing the Libertarian Party, then something really awful is afoot. I agree with Adam, dig in and rout them out!
Ron Paul has created so much awareness for nurturing Libertarian ideals in the mind of the people, that he's practically the Godfather of the modern Libertarian movement.
If this is about him not supporting the previous ticket with Weld, and Johnson. That ticket was a f'ing joke. In fact I was surprised Adam, that you supported Johnson. Especially considering that he was in favor of mandatory vaccinations, and open to the idea of a carbon tax.
We as a people have to get over these labels. Rand was running in that last cycle, and he was clearly more Libertarian than Johnson/Weld, even as a Republican.
There has to be a way of weeding out fake libertarians prior to the libertarian nomination. Else the party will simply become a bad joke. Blind devotion to the nominee just because they are the nominee is just stupid.
Also, however Johnson and Weld came to be on that ticket should be investigated. I know that we libertarians aren't that stupid. So if that was the will of the people vs. some kind of inner party upper leadership manipulation, then it's a non-starter.
And if it was accomplished via inner party upper leadership manipulation, they need to be routed out, before they turn the whole damn thing into a joke again this cycle.
t-i-t: Good points. The question is, why aren't there more LP members who care about winning? ...not to say Adam will win, but I can envision his campaign causing a Free County Project... or even a few Free Town Projects in each state as he campaigns. Winning those commissions and councils can be accomplished. Have you read, or listened to his book?
What's your appraisal?
I did listen to his book a while back, but am ashamed to say that I can’t remember it too well. It was probably a combination of my short attention span, and the fact that I was already familiar with the philosophy of liberty.
I think that Libertarianism is so natural, that selling people on it, is a simple matter of guiding their minds to the realization that their heart yearns for freedom. So in that sense, the title alone sets his intent, and from the looks of the reviews on Amazon he’s striking the right chord with people.
I think that almost everybody is a Libertarian, those who know they know, and those who don't know that they know. The trick is getting those who don't know they know, to know that they know, you know?
Freedom seems like it would be a great tool for accomplishing that. I need to listen to it again at some point, and then also read Rothbard's For a New Liberty: The Libertarian Manifesto.
"War is Mass Murder, Conscription is Slavery, Taxation is Robbery". — Murray N Rothbard
"Government apologists claim it’s acceptable for a government to do something that an individual would never be allowed to do." — Adam Kokesh
Thank you. I need a favor from you... as a step towards "give me 10!"... LOL Not push ups demanded from Adam's Drill Sergeant, but 10 minutes a day, 6 days a week, to work your social and business circles to get millenials to read or listen to the book... with an appeal to them to give you the appraisal, just as we are going through here.
This "first step" is to come up with a short letter from your heart, which will get someone to agree to read or listen... and if they listen, tell them they can stop the vid after the 10 min. mark if they think it sucks.
