Dengan tidak bermaksud mencela pemimipin negara manapun, perubahan tersebut memang sangat di perlukan pada saat ini untuk menumbuhkan kepercayaan masyarakat kepada politik itu sendiri, meski kita akui semua Pemimipin tidak pernah menginginkan keterpurukan terhadap negaranya, namun tanpa mereka sadari banyak hal yang tidak berjalan sesuai dengan harapan masyarakatnya, sehingga timbul rasa tidak percaya terhadap pemimpin dari sebagian besar masyarakatnya, akibat dari ketidak percayaan masyarakat terhadap pemimpinnya dalam suatu negaralah, berimbas pada mis kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap perpolitikan secara garis besar.

Kontroversi terbesar yang saya lihat dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini, pada saat pemilihan presiden Amerika Serikat tahun kemarin yang masih belum hilang dalam ingatan banyak orang, masyarakat secara umum sangat menginginkan Hillary Clinton yang merupakan Isteri dari mantan Presiden Amerika 2 periode sebagai Presiden, bahkan jika perhitungan dari hasil pemilihan secara lansung maka Hillary Clinton adalah pemenangnya, namun karena Amerika Serikat menganut sistem electoral college dalam menentukan presiden terpilih, maka pemenangnya adalah Donald Trump yang sekarang sudah menjabat sebagai Presiden Amerika Serikat.

Perbedaan antara pemilihan lansung dengan electoral college sangat jauh, sistem ini hanya memberikan hak kepada rakyat untuk mendatangi TPS untuk memilih calon Presidennya, namun pemenang dalam pemilihan tersebut yang disebut dengan popular votes tidak menentukan presiden terpilih. Pemenang dalam pemilihan Presiden di Amerika Serikat, di tentukan oleh banyaknya jumlah suara electoral college atau disebut juga "electoral votes", maka jangan heran jika Hillary yang mendapatkan dukungan mayoritas dari rakyat Amerika Serikat tidak menduduki jabatan Presiden Amerika Serikat, tapi malah Donald Trump yang memenangkan suara electoral college yang menduduki jabatan sebagai Presiden Amerika Serikat pada saat ini, yang disambut dengan demonstrasi besar besaran oleh rakyat Amerika mayoritas adalah pendukung Hillary Clinton.
