"i demand others do something"
implies there could be some kind of retribution if others do not do the thing. i see people posting things like "white people need to stop doing XYZ", and my only question is, "or else, what?" generally, the answer is that they'll complain more and then say more shitty things about people they've never met. then, at times, i observe the retribution. i see what happens when enough people think that the words of others are equal to violence. it warps the perception when one assigns damage or harm that one thinks one has experienced to the words one has heard or read. when enough people decide what your behaviour should be, without any checks on power, the despotism of the mob reveals itself.
