Why taxation is theft

in #freedom7 years ago

Try to imagine I want to start a charity project. But for some reason I'm not able to raise enough money. So instead I take to the street and point my gun at wealthy people, and force them to give me money. I take the money and feed and clothe the poor.

Most people would call this theft, and I suppose you're still agreeing with me. Let's take it a step further.

When the government tax it's citizens, it means that they demand money from them under the threat of force. If you do not pay, you will get letters and demands, and if you still refuse they will take your car, your house and the money you own them - and probably put you in jail too.

Still not with me?

Perhaps you're thinking; "But taxation is part of the social contract"

I don't know with you, but I have never signed such a contract. You can't even decide to LEAVE that forced "contract". Even if you decide not to use government services, you still have to pay tax.

Another argument may be; "taxes is the price we pay so that the government can provide law and order. Without taxation and government society would collapse, social order would break down and violence would erupt"

First of all, there are no evidence that humans are malicious or evil to the core. That is not our standard state. Before governments and societies were formed, humans lived in relative peace, and it is way more beneficial to us to make friends and allies than go around killing each other for no reason.

It is not the threat of reprimand that prevents people from killing and stealing from one another. Most murders and violence happen in affect, and it has shown that threats of life in jail and even death sentence has no impact on crime rates.

Of course governments are interested in spreading the narrative that humans are inherently bad and malicious. Of course they want us to believe there is no way we could survive without them. This idea of the inherently evil human is spread through the mainstream. We pollute, we kill animals, we fight, we kill. But at the same time it is not WE who are doing that. Everything is controlled by government, and they have the power to regulate what ever they want. But since THEY are the MOST malicious, two faced people that exist, they are corrupt and are only interested in power and virtue signaling, instead of actually doing something. Their main focus is taxation - not actually solving anything.

If we we're free, we would also have to take responsibility from the day we turned into adults. We would have to think further than our shoe. We would probably also make much better decisions, innovation would be much greater and since there wouldn't be any incentives for scientists to lie and hold back their own thoughts in order to get funding from politicians - REALITY would be much clearer.
