Jimmo's Thought for the Day #1: Why Greed is Fine
Despite the endless braying over greed, greed is only a problem when you have non-consenting access to the content of other people's wallets.... ahem.. taxation is theft.
If the saying, 'A fool and his money are soon parted,' is true, and we agree fools are better left less able to influence the world around them, then what we need is not more hand-wringing and finger-wagging but economic conditions which are in fact conducive to greed, where goods and services are provided on a strictly consensual basis.
If greed really bothers you, there is no better way to focus the attention of greedy people than to confine the resources they waste to those they have acquired legitimately i.e. through mutual consent in trade.
Greed... fine. The initiation of the use of force... not fine.
