I realize it is a bit long, and I was initially going to break it into 2 parts, but the first part is the less exciting historical aspect of it, and the real meat is in the second part. I felt like the context may be lost if I broke it up, as well as potentially giving the wrong idea about the second part causing some to ignore it. Given how much history reading is actually involved in understanding this subject, I think I condensed it down about as far as I could for the purpose while still effectively driving home the point.
