Good question and merry Christmas. I would consider socialism any form of government intervention that tries to perform a function that the free market has proven to be more apt at. In other words I thing that more government control equals the less freedom of choice. This lack of choice limits free exchange of ideas and goods. By virtue of you asking the question I presume you disagree. Disagreement without government punishment or coercion is the blessing of freedom that we have due to the lack of socialism.
For full disclosure I was an uncompromising socialist for many years in my youth so I can clearly see how socialists think I’m wrong for being greedy and selfish. Oh well.
