Very interesting way to live. You are right that people pay to live in a way that isn't even any fun.
My wife and I plan to live for very little by homesteading, living off the power and gas grids and producing our own food. It will be great once we get there but in the short to mid term it is expensive and a lot of work.

We are already well on the path. We bought some land a couple years ago and are building an energy efficient house on it this year. We have a few detailed posts on some of those aspects if you browse our posts over the last few months.
oh yeh I do remember reading your posts, i was really new to here! Great! spring has just started here and i will document a pallet garden as I have limited space and just bed rock instead of soil hahahahahah! NICE to be connected on here, gotta love steemit!
