Freedom, or Servitude?

How many people are truly Free? Do you feel free? Can you say whatever you want without fear of being persecuted by the government or your fellow citizens? Can you do whatever you want as long as it doesn't infringe on other people's rights? If you can't answer yes to the last 2 questions then you are not really free. I am an American citizen and I know I can't answer yes to the last 2 questions. If I can't answer yes then I can almost guarantee no one else can answer yes. Why is that? Is it because we all live in a dictatorship? In a way we do. For some reason, most all of us has given up some type of freedom of choice to someone else.

Seatbelt Freedom

Let's take seatbelts as an example, let me be clear I wear my seat belt all of the time because I like living, why should we be forced to wear a seat belt who are we hurting other than ourselves and our families? Society cannot be a victim. Society does not truly exist. You are not hurting someone when you choose not to wear a seatbelt. I have heard the argument that someone not wearing their seatbelt can become a projectile and cause more damage. I feel like this is a very thin argument because the bowling ball in their car can become a projectile too. Why do we allow these type of laws to be enforced upon us? I think it is because we are scared.

Why are you Afraid

What do we have to be afraid of? A ticket? Jail? What I think we are really afraid of is "effort". Why are we afraid of effort? Well, the simple answer is because we have to go against the tied and be different. Oh wait, look at that we are not really afraid of effort we are afraid to be different. Being different is hard because people will judge us. Most people just want to go about their lives in peace and to be left alone. As soon as you choose to be different you are choosing to not be left alone. The greatest people in the world chose to be different and go against the tied. Look at Martin Luther King, Gandhi, George Washinton, Winston Churchill, and so on. They were great people they made a difference in the world. We need great people to be different first, so we can follow them and help them be great. We need a great person now to help others to not be afraid to be different. Let's make different the new normal.

Take It Back

History has shown that freedom is not given to us, it is taken by force of will. If you want to be free you must take it from those who want to take it from you. Most people are going to need that leader to step up and show them how to take back their freedom. Can you be that leader in your local area? I encourage you to try and be different and lead your local area to freedom.
