PHISHING INFORMATION
There has been recent attempts of individuals trying to commit fraudulent act in relation to innocent people crypto wallets, we thought it would be a great opportunity to remind our users and followers about phishing attacks.
Phishing is the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies or people you trust in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers. We have seen in some instances where individuals are pretending to be the employees of certain crypto company and will request you send crypto to an address different from the smart contract address of the company. These people are scammers and have no business with the real company they claim to represent. No real crypto company will ask you to send crypto to their personal wallets for whatsoever reason.
How can you identify phishing emails?
Email received is not from a familiar email address. For example, [email protected] is not the same as [email protected]
Links to different domains other than the domain of the company. www.google.com-gloogle.net is not the same as www.google.com
“You have won a prize, click here”
Attempts to conduct unusual activities. For example, to send ETH to an address that you have not generated.
Prompts to provide credit card information to prove your identity or age
