How to pack fragile items safely

in #fragile6 days ago

I am preparing for a big move next month and I have a lot of fragile stuff. Mostly dishes, some porcelain figurines, and a couple of large mirrors. I am super stressed about things breaking during transit. What is the best way to pack these? Should I buy special boxes or is regular bubble wrap enough? Any tips on packing mirrors?

Honestly, packing fragile stuff is the worst part. I used to do it myself with tons of newspapers, but half of my plates still ended up cracked. My advice is to get professional help if you can afford it. When I was moving last year, I decided not to risk it and hired B2B Moving. They are a local family-owned company in the Bay Area and their team was amazing. They literally wrapped every single plate and mirror like they were museum pieces, and they actually include shrink wrap and tape in their standard hourly rate. It saved me so much stress. If you do it yourself, definitely get heavy-duty double-walled boxes and bubble wrap, not just newspapers. But seriously, hiring professionals for the fragile items is a lifesaver.
