The French language has reach that far exceeds the borders of France! Making this even more useful. A lot of people don't suspect this, but Africa in particular has very large populations of francophones. A lot of countries over there even have it as the official language!

I realize nobody asked for this fact, but there you go. As a French speaker myself, I once was very surprised by my underestimation of our numbers. Wikipedia has French being spoken everyday by 3% of the population.
