Foxtales Contest #3 - Entry #2

The horn of the incoming truck startles Sam and urges him to hide behind the tall bushes by the deserted road. He glances at the moon - faintly gleaming behind the dense Oak trees - and then covers his mouth with his jacket, panting and wheezing while clutching his chest as he now stares at the ground. Beside him lies a motionless body, the stains of whose blood has soiled his white clothes and left him rattled to the bone. The mist may hide him from those around, but it cannot hide him from himself. Unstoppable tears blur his vision and he gently holds the cold hands of the girl who no longer replies with the bright smile he is used to. He places his forehead on hers and hopes for her to wake up. But he knows... he knows that he may cry for days and nights to come... But even a million years worth of tears won't erase what a moment of rage has done to him.
