The Shell Game Economy
The dismal failure and death spiral of the Foxconn deal in WI is an apt summary of the startling ineptitude and outright lies of what was the Scott Walker years in Wisconsin. Pledging billions upon billions of taxpayer money for pie in the sky plans to build huge infrastructure and facilities for a Taiwanese company to arrive and make jobs 10, 20 and 30 years in the future.
The typical lying bastards politician promising the moon a few decades down the road while selling out the voters and leaving town in the short-term. A lot of bravado and bullshit and news conferences and sound bites, but in the end a lot of sound and fury meaning nothing, or worse than nothing, it means taxes on poor and middle class citizens for promises that are never delivered.
This is modern capitalism, shell game capitalism, crony capitalism, the capitalism of myths, lies, shady deals and the middle and lower classes be damned. Disgusting economic system.
