Homemade Vortex Fountain

in #fountain9 years ago (edited)

So it's Saturday and I got nothing better to do so I decided it was random building day and the fountain won...15062033338561856704314.jpg So this all started out as some things I found around the house.. A fish tank , an empty pretzel cantainer, a pump and some duct tape ..20170923_144738.jpg

I started by cutting bottem out of two cantainers.. 1 for the stand and 1 for the top and stuck them together .. I hide the pump down inside the two20170923_151721.jpg

Then I drilled 2 holes in the 1 top to make the drain and the inlet.. I use a 90°elbow to make it spin20170923_151753.jpg

Then I put it all together with some hot glue and tested it out... Still needs some touch ups .. Need to level it so it cascades evenly. Waters a little dirty .. Still need to change it .. Will do it at the end when its done

But this is what I have ended up with so far...

I will post more pictures and a vid once its all done..

nice work dude! thats a great little vortex :) now you just need to throw some fluorescent inks in and some mini baubels and get it under a UV light! that would make a cool little fixture!

This was just proof of concept.. I got to trim it out and do some ajustments.. But I like the dye and lights idea.. Ill see what I can do...

hehe sweet ;)
