Liquefied Natural Gas Train on a Ship

Have you ever seen a Liquefied Natural Gas train on a ship before? This is a 32 modules for Train 2 of the Yamal LNG plant which are on the move to the project construction site.

As much as we like to embrace renewable energy like we all embraced Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, there are still constraints in it's general availability. 65% of the world technology still runs on Fossil Fuels (Natural Gas, Gasoline, Diesel, PMS).

In a head to head poll on availabilty for consumers, Fossil fuel still stand very strong against Renewable Energy, probably because the technology involved to actualise the full potential of Renewable Energy is still evolving, Many Developing countries do not have access to it. Good news is , at the rate of the World advancement, Fossil fuel might be phased out soon.

For now, Fossil fuel is still very much a rave of the moment, Natural Gas is as essential as the air we breathe in for many businesses and manufacturing processes. To bloister Natural Gas, many Giant Oil and Gas companies proposed a project.

PROJECT YAMAL NLG

This is one of the most challenging real life project in the world today. Years back, Gazprom partnered with _ExxonMobil, Conocophilips, Petro-Canada and Royal Dutch Shell to build and run a Liquefied Natural Gas plant. The project which Costs $27 Billion USD is a _3 Train**_ capacity of 16.5 Million Tonnes of Liquefied Natural Gas per year. By the end of 2017, the first Train will be fully functional and the other two Trains will sync by 2021.

Location

Located deep in the Russian artic, where temperature can fall up to -40°C in winter. The Sabetta where the LNG plant is sutuated lies in the Yamal Peninsula, North-Eastern Russia.

Stakeholders

• Developed by JSC Yamal LNG

• JGC corporation, Chiyaoda and Technip are the Technology companies handling the Design and Commisioning.

• The special Gas tankers is constructed by Marine Engineering Ltd and Daewoo Ship Building Company.

• The Turbines are supplied by Siemens.

• While Technopromexport handles the building of the power plants.

Markets

Exportation of the Liquefied Natural Gas would be mainly to China and some more Asian markets. Products to be shipped will be supplied from the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye Gas field and the Northeastern passage on the sea will be the means to get it to all the potential markets in Asia.
