FORTNITE FOR ANDROID. WHEN DOES IT COME OUT? WHAT PHONES ARE COMPATIBLE?

in #fortnite6 years ago

After the successful launch of Fortnite on iOS and Switch - allowing the world to play on any of these platforms simultaneously - the launch for Android is getting closer. There are strong rumors that Fornite will be launched simultaneously with the Galaxy Note 9 and that it would not be available through the Google Play Store, but as a direct download from the Epic page. The reason? So Epic Games can avoid the 30% that Google would take from the sale of each of the Fortnite micro-transactions, to be directly in the Play Store.

Taking into account that Epic does not need the entire Google Play framework - that is, the Google account to login and other things, since the Epic Games account is used - it makes sense to leave it "out" of the Play Store (something that can not be done on iOS or other consoles).

Fortnite for Android: Minimum Requirements

been able to see in the Switch and iOS, the game is quite heavy. It is not a new version, more limited than the original one created for mobile phones as it happens with PUBG Mobile, but it is the complete game. It is precisely the fact that the game uses the same Unreal Engine 4 that we see on PC, which allows us to have the "cross platform multiplayer", or the possibility of, being on Android or iOS, playing with people with a Switch, Xbox One or PC (PS4 is excluded because Sony, in a rather archaic way, prohibits multiplayer with other platforms).

Due to these requirements, there are several phones that will not be compatible with the game initially. Developing for Android is more complicated than iOS due to the variety of devices and hardware that each of these has, so the initial list of compatible phones does not include all. We do not know if it is limited only to these phones, or that phones with characteristics comparable to those listed, will be able to execute it.

But we do know that relatively modern phones will be required. Surprisingly, we see in the list phones that are not top of the line, such as the Moto E4 Plus, which increases the chances that several phones can run the game.

However, it should be noted that while it is a list of phones compatible with Fortnite for Android, it does not mean that it will run well. As we have seen on iOS, even phones like the iPhone 6S, faster than many of the phones on this list despite being already 3 years old, suffers with Fortnite, showing us a game with a quality level quite degraded, as demonstrated this video from Digital Foundry
