I freaking love it. I understand that it is extremely important that it not be used to replace comments, however, it does provide me with the ability to highlight and comment directly on specific text within the post which I think adds significant value to the creator of the post and other readers of the post. I cannot do what I did in my genius comments in these comments. Until steemit implements its own solution, I think it's a great tool. If you install their chrome plugin it will light up any time you are on a page with genius comments. It also enables you to annotate any text you highlight with your cursor.
