'Teams want extra test day due to bad weather'

The Formula 1 teams would be talking about holding an extra test day, or alternating a day, because of the bad weather that is coming in Barcelona.

It was already cold on Monday during the first test day with some rain, but especially on Wednesday, there could be even worse weather. Although the predictions vary from (heavy) rain to snow, it is of course wait and see, but the teams prefer not to do so, reports Auto Bild.

According to the German publication, it would be considered whether an extra day can be scheduled, or whether the Wednesday can be exchanged for Friday, for which better weather is predicted. The weather should improve on Thursday, the last test day of the first test week. British Motorsport reports, however, that Friday may be a difficult story because Williams rented the circuit that day for a film day.

According to Autosport, Ferrari has reserved the circuit for Saturday for the same reason, which would make the only alternative option for Monday. Next week Tuesday (March 6) the second test four-day event will start. Whether the FIA ​ regulator and Liberty Media as the commercial boss of the sport at all feel the need to cancel the Wednesday and /or plan another day is not known. In addition, all teams must agree. The idea will be discussed further in the course of Tuesday.
