And there it was again after a couple of months of being absent. The first formula 1 racing match of the season, with the questions of all beginnings of seasons...how are the racers doing, and how is the equipment doing?

In the beginning it was all about other things. Would all drivers take the knee to support the BLM movement during the Austrian national anthem, is Hamilton still in his game, and for us Dutchies all eyes as always were focussed on Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver from the Red Bull team.

I feel like the Dutchies were extra focussed over the last year for formula 1 racing because Max is doing such a good job over the last couple of seasons, and because of the fact that before the covid-19 situation there was going to be race again in Zandvoort on the circuit. Tickets were ridiculously expensive and all groups of friends were trying to get tickets, and all was for nothing, which is kind of ironic.

So now the race has been raced and the Dutchyman was the first to leave the race due to equipment failure, but after him more cars were looking like they were still in vacay mode. The drivers were on point, but the equipment wasn't. To me it is cool that the rookies did good jobs. But the most entertaining of it all?

The masks!!!!

Or better said, how everybody was using their masks.

Or how the drivers who were not using their masks. Or the drivers who were touching their masks from the outside. Or the fact where the mask is mandatory where it doesn't have any point, but when there is a point it is worn wrong. Or shaking the hand afterwards after the victory congratulating the other driver

Sigh.....

It makes my hospital heart bleed and is actually the perfect example of how masks only make sense when being used in the right way. For now it is only still just a rule which everybody hates, and nobody sees the benefit of what is actually a usefull thing. Hopefully this will change, and will be used in a sensible way.

And yeah, formula 1 is back. The question is for how long, because it is a travelling circus with people from all over the world, even though they are functioning in their own bubble. But untill it is forbidden again...it remains the perfect hangover Sunday television sport ;)
