Beware of Counterfeit Coins on ForkDelta

Just wanted to let everyone know about an "interesting" new scam being perpetrated on ICO investors . . .

Scammers copy a website, mint a counterfeit coin (ie, a coin that is created by the scammers, and then given the name of an existing coin). The counterfeit coin is then listed on an exchange, and the market becomes flooded with the counterfeit coin.

These scammers are really going to cause problems for all the legit ICOs out there.

Unfortunately ForkDelta is aware of the situation, but currently not doing anything about it. They are aware that there is counterfeit coins on the market, and they are aware that several crypto investors have come forward and complained about losing ETH to these scammers. There was some discussion amongst the admins about possibly taking down the counterfeit coins, but for some reason, the admins decided NOT to do so.

So, before investing in some coin on Forkdelta, do your research and make sure you buy the actual coin, and not some shitcoin with the same same.
