It is wise to forgive: Forgive your neighbor the wrong done to you; then when you pray, your own sins will be forgiven

The Bible constantly teaches us that it is wise to forgive and forget offenses, health is far from people prone to hate. The judgment of the Lord falls severely against those who bear a grudge against their neighbor. The Law of Moses tells us clearly on this subject: "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself" Leviticus 19:18.
An example of this was the punishment Cain received for murdering his brother Abel. God condemned Cain to live as a wanderer and vagabond, because the ground would no longer give him its fruits, and also placed a mark on him so that he would be recognized as a murderer (Genesis 4:8-26).
The master of wisdom Ben Sira in his book taught to us about this:
"Wrath and anger, these also are abominations,
yet a sinner holds on to them
The vengeful will face the Lord's vengeance;
indeed he remembers their sins in detail" Ben Sira 27:30-28:1.
The Lord judges us with the same yardstick with which we judge our neighbor, in more practical terms, the universe returns to us what we give it. That is why it is important to live gratefully and always be willing to forgive, forgiveness is a blessing. When we have a heart willing to forgive it is because the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, and stability) and not the fear towards men, is acting and building our life.
Ben Sira taught us:
"Forgive your neighbor the wrong done to you;
then when you pray, your own sins will be forgiven" Ben Sira 28:2.
The Lord gave to us the commandments to allow us to live as brothers, in harmony with each other, whoever forgives and puts the law into practice pleases God and acts for something superior, to be a co-creator in the world with God:
"Remember the commandments and do not be angry with your neighbor;
remember the covenant of the Most High, and overlook faults" Ben Sira 28:7.
