Don't forget Jesus: They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths, 2 Timothy 4:4
Every adult Christian has a missionary duty, not to forget Jesus and preach the word with fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), this is what the apostle Paul teaches us in his second epistle to his disciple Timothy. To mission is to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to the ends of the earth, and not only that, because through the word of God the thought is provoked, that is to say, people is educated, and simple and common people are freed from oppression. The problem of ignorance, although it may not seem so, destroys entire nations: "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6.
We live in a society where myths and gossips matter more than the true knowledge, a society where complaining is more important than solving problems, a society built on empty words and not on concrete facts. It is logical that in this situation the wisdom of God is rejected, the wisdom of God is way, truth, and life (John 14:6), the word of God, the wisdom from above, is the opposed to the falsehood, the lie, and the deceit.
The apostle Paul teaches us with the example of his life that those who triumph in the struggle for life are the most determined people, the people who persevere, and this is what every evangelist and missionary must take into account when they want to walk the path of the Lord Jesus: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children" Ephesians 5:1.
This is how the apostle Paul explains the duty of the missionary:
"Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry" 2 Timothy 4:2-5.
