Harry Kane has stated that he wants to be scoring 50 goals per season with Tottenham in the Premier League.

After experiencing another impressive goal-scoring season Kane sees no reason why he can't achieve the 50 goals-a-season mark

“Fifty goals is a target I’d love to get, obviously,” Kane told reporters after scoring in England's international friendly with France.

“Hopefully I can stay fit for the whole season and yeah, 50 goals is something I’d love to achieve."

By scoring 50 goals per season Kane would be reaching the heady heights of the world's best players, such as Lionel Messi who managed 54 goals this season to take home the Golden Shoe.

Kane himself beat his personal best for a single season, by scoring 35 goals in the league to make it back-to-back Golden Boots for the 23-year-old.

“It’s been a very good year this year, plenty still to work on and improve on. There’s a lot to look forward to next season. It’s very exciting," said Kane when reflecting on his season.

“Obviously coming second last year and the Champions League, we want to improve and going into that World Cup, there’s no better trophy to win in the world.”

Nevertheless Kane has often struggled to carry his league form with him into his international career and has often faltered in an England shirt, which the Spurs man recognises:

“I think things are slowly getting better [in the England squad]," said Kane when reflecting on the nation teams performance.

“I think the group we’ve got here – the management, the staff – are all heading in the right direction."

Kane has also previously stated that he wants to win the Ballon d'Or, a feet which may be unobtainable without an international trophy.

However, Kane believes this England squad is good enough to win the next World Cup:

“Nights like the France defeat won’t affect us, it’s what we come here for to try to work on [ourselves]," claimed Kane after the Les Bleus defeat.

“There’s no need to panic, no need to rush anything. These are little building blocks in place for the World Cup and we’ve more than enough talent to win it.”
