Referee Ogabor of Nigeria One Year match ban Attempted
The CAF Referees Committee on 28 April 2018, has called the attention of the CAF Disciplinary Board to give Nigeria referee Joseph Ogabor a one year match ban for attempted match manipulation. That was during CAF Confederation Cup 1/16th round first leg between a Nigeria team Plateau United and USM Alger of Algeria played at Lagos stadium on 7 April 2018.
After the decision investigations was conducted by the South African technical crew of the match contacted by Ogabor to provide technical assistance to plateau united.
Also, Plateau United was cautioned to abhor
any such partial practice which tend to tarnish image of a club.
In a current development, the South African Football Association have been ordered to tender an apology to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after all investigations there was nothing to substantiate or any trace of NFF office involvement in US$30,000 bribe.
