The Story of Dedication and Passion!
A child was born on February 5, 1985 in a middle class family of Madeira, Portugal. His father was a gardener with the municipality while his mother worked as a cook. He was the youngest child among four children; others being a son and two daughters.
He was grown up in poverty. At early age, his parents wanted him to get education and be a successful person in future. But he had other dreams. He wanted to become a professional footballer. He had a passion for football. Football was everything for him.
He used to play football all the time instead of focusing on studies. He had been playing football since he was eight. He was once expelled from the school after assaulted his teacher by throwing a chair at him. He had always been a keen footballer and by the time he was 14 years old he decided to concentrate on becoming a professional footballer.
Tragedy happened when he was diagnosed with a racing heart at the age of 15. He underwent an operation to treat his condition, doctors said that he might have to give up on football but he started playing football a few days after treatment because 'he was made for football'.
He started playing for one of the best club of his country. His hard work and determination made him better and better. At the age of 18, he was signed by a top English club. He continued his career there and impressed everyone. After a few years, he was known all over the world for extraordinary football skills.
In England, he helped his team win three successive Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League title, and a FIFA Club World Cup. By age 22, he had received Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations and at age 23, he won his first Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards. In 2009, He was the subject of the most expensive association football transfer when he moved to a Spanish club in a transfer worth €94 million.
It didn't end here. In Spain, he has won 14 trophies. He is the club's all-time leading goalscorer, He has scored a record 34 La Liga hat-tricks, he is the only player to reach 30 league goals in six consecutive La Liga seasons. He won back-to-back Ballon d'Or for a second time, winning by a record voting margin in 2016 after sealing La Undécima, Club's 11th European title, and winning Euro 2016, and in 2017 after firing Club to the first back-to-back UEFA Champions League victory in history.
Besides all these, he is a very kind and generous person. He doesn't have tattoos on his body because he regularly donates blood. He sold the Golden Boot he won in 2011 for €1.5million to donate the funds to Palestinian school children in Gaza. He has helped so many patients by paying their bills. His list of charity is so long. He raises voice for the killing of innocent people in Syria and other places. "My father always taught me that when you help other people, then God will give you double," he said in 2013.
