Lets think of what we can do for our self's but not what our government can do for us

The report that Nigerians use 400 million condoms in a year is one expose that has blown my mind. Forget the sex attached. I am going to explain to you how Nigerians can in one year crowd fund to solve a social problem without the help of the government.

Not because of the amount of sex we have - No. What is really intriguing is the average price of a pack of condoms which is N50. Now multiply N50 Naira from every sex-having Nigerian by 400 million and you will get 20,000,000,000 (20 Billion Naira).

Now imagine if we have a strong institution that can hold these funds and after one year Chanel it to pipe-born water, Education, electricity, accessible roads, scholarships for our uneducated children, start up capitals for SME's and building of medium scale industries that will employ thousands of our youths.

These are the possibilities I see when that 400 million condoms is mentioned. But the biggest problem is that we don't understand the power of crowd funding in Africa. We refuse to do it for ourselves but are willing to pay the Central Bank 65 Naira for COT/VAT or whatever it is they call it. Imagine if more than 90,000,000 Nigerians with a bank account decide to crowd fund for community projects - imagine what we can achieve. My dear people, let your mind roam around the possibilities.
