The semi-finals of the U-20 World Cup will be as follows
Venezuela,Uruguay, England and Italy are the teams in the final four of the U-20 World Cup.
Today, Italy played against Zambia, and England played against Mexico to see which two teams would play the second semi-final of the U-20 World Cup. Yesterday, Venezuela and Uruguay won their matches versus USA and Portugal respectively, and now they will face each other in the semi-finals to see who will be the south american representative in the final.
England has Dominic Solanke, Liperpool FC most recent signing, to thank as his sole goal gave them a narrow 1-0 win against Mexico, booking their place in the semi-finals. Barely two minutes after half-time, Solanke put the Young Lions ahead with a composed left-footed strike after a magnificent through ball by the captain, Lewis Cook.
On the other match of the day, Italy had a rough game against Zambia. They only got to beat the African side on extra time, for a final score of 3-2. The Italians received an early goal and got a player sent off before half-time. However starting the second half they managed to equalize the game, but in the 84th minute Zambia scored again and things seemed the be over. Nevertheless, Italy put the game 2-2 on the 88th minute, when Federico Dimarco curled home a free kick in the 88th to force extra time. They would finally score the winner in the 111th minute and earn their spot in the semi- finals after much suffering.
