BSC Young Boys in Champions League
Finally, they made it! BSC Young Boys Bern qualified for the first time for the Champions League.
After the 1:1 in the first leg at home a hard game awaited. Even worse the chances stood after Dinamo Zagreb scored after only 7 minutes. YB players were too nervous in the first half, they made unusual mistakes and thus at the halftime whistle the score was still 1:0.
In the second half everything changed: YB dominated from the beginning, they were now confident and played like they used to during the last months. After a bad injury from Miralem Sulejmani who suffered a concussion, Roger Assalé entered the pitch. He brought new energy into the game and only after a few minutes he dribbled his defender, who saw no other solution than to foul him: penalty! Goalgetter Hoarau scored as he almost does from the penalty point.
Only two minutes later after a corner Wütrich won the fight in the goal area and the ball got to Hoarau, who only had to put it in.
The last 20 minutes YB kept calm, even had a few chances to increase the score. After a great second half they finally made it to the Champions League. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's drawing to know who the rivals will be in the group stage.
Hopp YB!
