Liverpool FC : This Means More II

We face the greatest club in Champions League History, Real Madrid FC. This is probably the one opponent to avoid in any champions league tie, talk less the final. They have so much experience in the competition and their love affair with the trophy seems to be getting even stronger. You can’t have 12 Champions League titles by chance. They want to add to their illustrious history by adding a third consecutive title and cementing their dynasty for all to see. I am a madridista admittedly, I have been since my idol Zidane took his talents to the Spanish Capital. Now he brings his supremely talented squad to the Ukrainian capital to do battle with my beloved Liverpool. Obviously I want Liverpool to win, but I won’t hide from the fact that we face overwhelming odds. But we always do it the hard way.

Make no mistake, we have arrived back on the big stage. But it’s time to raise hell. Europe’s elite have sat up and taken notice. We need to cement our claim to that title of ‘Elite’. For so long we have let our history talk for us and weigh us down even. It’s been the rod for beating the backs of our recent teams. An albatross. This has weighed so heavily on them, preventing them for getting beyond the last hurdle. They feel Let’s allow this team go out and enjoy themselves as they have done all season. Let them write their own history.

Real Madrid have all the history, all the quality and the most recent trophies. For them, if they win this, it’s just business as usual. Normal service continues. But Liverpool have quality too. We have to suffer on that day, but we must not fail. We will write our own history about the how Jürgen and his merry band of crazy misfits came from Merseyside to Kiev. With a method to their madness and with Anfield noise ringing in their ears, reached for and snatched the glory they deserve. About how we gengenpressed our way to fame. Because for us, football is not a life or death situation. It’s much bigger than that. Because, we are Liverpool and this mean more.
