Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United - Match of the week #1
Hello Steem Community!
I'm starting a Premier League pre-match blog where I'll be writing about the biggest fixtures every week. If you are a football fan and are entertained by my blogs be sure to follow!
Now onto the game.
It's the 25th round of the English Premier League and Manchester United will travel to the famous Wembley stadium where they will have to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Coming into this game the Red Devils are sitting in the 2nd place right after their town rivals Manchester City and are 8 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur who are in the 5th place.
Form:
United are coming into this game holding an 8-game unbeaten streak where they have scored 16 and conceded only 3 goals. The rise of Jesse Lingard and the recruitment of a world class star in Alexis Sanchez have enhanced United's form and they are looking confident.
The recent form of Spurs has also been impressive. The London side has only lost a single game in their last 16 fixtures although their last game was a draw against a League Two team. Spurs have acted quietly in the transfer market and haven't made any big moves but according to the recent reports they are close to signing Lucas Moura from PSG.
Injuries:
Losing Paul Pogba to a hamstring injury at the start of the season was a big blow for the Manchester team but the team hasn't had big problems with injuries ever since. Eric Bailly (Ankle injury) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Knee injury) are 100% out of the game but United have solid replacements in their positions. Daley Blind's involvement is under a doubt since he is dealing with a muscle injury.
Spurs on the other hand has a handful of problems. Winks, Rose, Lloris, Lamela, Eriksen, Aurier, Alderweireld are all under a doubt. Losing these key players is a big blow for the London side as for example Toby Alderweireld, Eriksen and Lloris are without a doubt key members of Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
Key players:
For United the key player has to be Anthony Martial. With Serge Aurier under a doubt Spurs have a problem in their right-back position and Martial will have an advantage in his favoured left wing and could double his account against Spurs this season.
For Spurs the key player will have to be Heung Min Son. The South Korean is having a fantastic season and has already 11 goals and 7 assists to his tally. Son is a creative left winger and even if he isn't scoring he always has an ability to create chances for his teammates.
Prediction:
With Spurs having so many key players under a doubt and Manchester United having a new star player in their side I will have to go for United's win. Keep in mind the game is taking place at Wembley and Spurs doesn't have the full home court advantage. My preditction: Spurs 1:2 United.

I don't know who I want to lose more. Tottenham because they're shit. Or United because Alexi$ $anchez just left us for a cash grab. Argh, tough times to be a gunner!
As an United supporter I could make arguments that it wasn't just money :) but yeah, at least you guys are getting a world class striker in Aubameyang. Going to be interesting if Lacazette falls to the bench or Wenger is going to bring back the old 4-4-2.
Today showed how big of a shit show we are still. Cech needs to go, he's a fucking liability between the sticks. I feel bad whenever new players come to the club because we are so shite. Laca is great but he's nowhere near showing it. Hopefully Mkhi fits into the team, forms a partnership with MO, and Auba is the missing piece. We will continue conceding goals until we reconfigure out backline and drop Xhaka, but as long as we can score enough to win the game at least we can bag 3 points. Le sigh..
Yep these games against lower sides should a lot easier for you. I really rate a lot of your players: Laca, Wilshere, Ozil, Monreal but I just can't understand how Xhaka starts for you. Maybe Premier League just doesn't suit him but replacing him with a high class B2B midfielder can improve your team drastically.
He is so poor lately, I don't know how he, Iwobi, and Bellerin are still automatic starters. I really hope this clear out of the squad and new additions makes people actually fight for their place. On paper, Gunners really should be MUCH better than we have been lately. Here's to toping LMAO take the prem by storm.. Cheers!
