Gotze confirms his recovery from the disease
BERLIN (Reuters) - Borussia Dortmund striker Mario Goetze said on Thursday that his recovery from metabolic disorders was continuing and that he would soon be able to start preparations for the new season with his team.
"Tomorrow I will start the third phase of my recovery program," wrote Goetze, winner of the 2014 World Cup with the German national team, on Facebook.
"That means I will complete the performance test and start training with the team soon," he said.
Dortmund began preparations for the new season last Friday under the leadership of coach Peter Bose.
Goitez is trying to make up for what he missed in the past period since he has not played since January after he was diagnosed with the disease, which explains his suffering in terms of physical readiness and away from the level in the last seasons.
The 25-year-old said he had undergone a sports and medical program for rehabilitation since his illness was diagnosed.
"Over the past few months, I have received a successful treatment that has now been promised to the road," he said.
