Chelsea apologizes to China fans for Kennedy's humiliating comments.

Chelsea have been forced to apologize to Chinese fans for the humiliating comments made by Brazilian player Kennedy through his InStagram account at the Beijing camp.

"We are surprised and frustrated to see one of our young players, Kennedy, spreading offensive messages and insulting the feelings of the Chinese people at his expense in a social networking site," the club said in a statement posted on its website.

The statement confirmed that Kennedy had cleared the comments quickly and apologized, but the club believes that "the damage has already taken place, so he takes his sincere apology again."

Chelsea said the player had been "rebuked and disciplined".

Kennedy, on July 21, posted two pictures in Portuguese with two comments in Portuguese: "You are a stupid China", but the actor confirmed that the expression was not racist and then apologized.
