Action in Top European Leagues Today

Nice day of football with some very interesting results. In the English Premier League I was able to watch the end of the Liverpool-Bournemouth game which Liverpool won quite easily 3-0. Manchester City lost against Manchester United 1-2 and I think this is their goodbye to the Leagues title, the only rival Liverpool has now is Leicester against whom they have an 11 point lead, this could go down to 8 if Leicester win tomorrow.

In France I saw the Montpelier-Paris Saint Germain game, Montpellier was leading 1-0 for most of the game, but Neymar was able to guide PSG to a comeback and PSG won 1-3. This gives PSG an 8 point lead over second place Marseille. I don't see PSG losing this year's title, as I saw today they are just that level ahead of their rivals.

In Germany the most interesting thing is that the leaders are Borussia Mönchengladbach, after Beating Bayern Munich 2-1. They are closely followed by Rasenballsport Leipzig with one point less. At this moment Bayern Munich is in seventh place even out of next years European competition if they don't improve their standing and game level in the league. Of course they could win the ECL, and therefore qualify directly.

In Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid won both their games and are level in first place, with Barcelona first thanks to two more goals in their favor. With Atletico de Madrid barely scraping points I think the Spanish league will again turn out to be a two horse race, even with everyone saying both Real Madrid and Barcelona are on the downhill curve. Personally I would like another team to come up but apparently there is no competing against the two big ones, they just have too much money.

And finally Italy, Juventus are now in second place after losing to Lazio 2-1, Cuadrado was red carded and Lazio took advantage, scoring after he was sent off (the score was 1- 1 when this happened) and even missed a penalty kick until a third goal was concede by Juventus in overtime. So now Inter have a two point lead over Juventus.

So far it has been a good weekend of European Football, tomorrow I think will not be so good as nearly all the top teams played today.
