Or perhaps I'm being a troll.

If the snowflakes can get triggered and declare things to be controversial, so can I 😏

@0:20, he's talking about a 4th down play at the end of the game, where basically a first down wins the game, and he ran for the first down.

He says "maybe I should have thrown it, we'll see" (meaning like, we'll see what the coaches and the analytics nerds say about it)

So first, you can see that he's well trained. He's not result-oriented; he knows there's some theoretical best decision every time and that the play working out doesn't prove it was the right thing to do.

So that's lovely and good.

But there are levels to this...

It's not like a defender slipped or something weird happened. It's a judgment call, whether he has the speed and angle and all that, sure. But he made the right judgment. You can replay it 100 times, starting from the point where he decides to run, and he converts it probably pretty close to 100 times.

So that has to be the best move.

Even a pass to a totally open receiver will get misfired or dropped once in a while.

So in this case the result of him being able to complete the run basically proves that it was also the best theoretical option.

Make sense?

Bugged me when I heard Goff say that.
