Mino Raiola attempts to position himself to take Mauro Icardi to Manchester United as Inter's contract fears grow

Manchester United and Mino Raiola have been consistent in their transfer dealings in the last two summers, with the super agent proving crucial to the Red Devils’ recruitment of star names.

United, following the dismal David Moyes reign and Louis van Gaal’s two-year tenure, have relied heavily on Raiola during the last two years.

The Italian has become United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s go-to-guy, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Henrikh Mkhitaryan - who has since departed - all Raiola clients who have moved to Old Trafford.

Raiola earned a staggering £41million from the Pogba deal alone, acting not just as the Frenchman’s agent, but also as an intermediary for United, according to FA documents.

Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, Raiola is hoping to act for United once more, in a potential £100million deal to take Mauro Icardi to Old Trafford.

Icardi, 24, has scored 18 goals in 24 games this season, but Inter’s form has stalled in recent months after a bright start.

The Argentine is under contract at Inter until 2021, but the Nerazzurri have been negotiating an extension with the player’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, to take him to €7million per year.

However, that is much less than Icardi, who has endured a rollercoaster relationship with the Italian side's support, could stand to earn at United, while Inter’s recent results mean a Champions League spot next term is far from a guarantee - even in spite of rule changes designed to help Italian clubs.
