OFFICIAL: Real Madrid gave the name of the new coach !!!
Julen Lopetegui, current coach of the Spanish national team, became the new coach of Real Madrid. The 51-year-old coach will start his work with the "Royal's" after World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Choosing Julen Lopetegui is a surprising choice. In the media, his name, among potential candidates for a new Real coach, was very rarely mentioned. Definitely more often were given to Mauricio Pochettino, Guti, Antonio Conte and Joachim Loew.
Since 2016, Lopetegui has been the national team of Spain (replacing Vicente del Bosque). In the World Cup qualifiers in Russia, his players did not lose the match. Earlier, for two years, the new "Royal's" coach trained FC Porto. Lopetegui also worked at Real Madrid, leading the second Real team in the 2008/09 season.
The heads of Real Madrid have announced that they will sign a three-year contract with a new trainer. The current Spanier selector will replace Zinedine Zidane as the coach.
I mean, I don't hate the idea, Lopetegui is a good coach, but also...really?, that came out of nowhere.
Hopefully he has a good run on the team.
We can say that it is a light "No Name" for Real coach, but we will see what will result from this ;)
Yeah he has been doing great with Spain, hopefully he has what it takes to control a roster like Madrid's...those guys seem to be restless atm.
